Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Signage Wayfinding Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the signage industry and proven expertise in designing and implementing wayfinding systems for large projects. This role involves collaborating with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to develop effective signage solutions that align with the overall design and functional requirements of the space.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

• Create comprehensive wayfinding strategies and signage systems for large-scale projects.
• Develop design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings for signage, ensuring clarity, legibility, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Utilize design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD) to produce high-quality visual representations and technical drawings.

Project Management:

• Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and construction teams to integrate signage solutions seamlessly into the built environment.
• Oversee the production and installation of signage to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.

Client Engagement:

• Conduct site assessments and analyze traffic patterns to inform wayfinding strategies.
• Present design proposals to clients, incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions.
• Provide expert advice on materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques to achieve optimal results.

Research and Innovation:

• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in wayfinding and signage design.
• Conduct research and case studies to support design decisions and enhance the effectiveness of wayfinding solutions.
• Experiment with innovative approaches to improve user experience and accessibility.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct thorough reviews of signage prototypes and final installations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Address any issues or discrepancies promptly, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, decisions, and project milestones.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in signage and wayfinding design, preferably on large-scale projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in wayfinding solutions and environmental graphics.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
• Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy in the context of wayfinding.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
